Lambeth, now is the time

Lambeth is one of the most vibrant and diverse boroughs in London covering Brixton, Streatham, Clapham and Waterloo. We provide services such as planning, social work, housing and schools to 333,000 residents and hundreds of businesses.

Everyone at Lambeth Council brings something different to the team. But despite our diverse talents and the unique perspective each of us brings, we are all connected by a shared ambition - to make life better for our community. It takes passion, pride and an innovative spirit. That’s what makes us 100% Lambeth.

We’re looking for a proactive, strategic digital expert who can bring a track record of leveraging technology investments, support collaboration across the council and encourage shared learning from within and from outside of the organisation. We have a number of external partnerships which this role will lead covering a range of digital agendas with organisations such as Microsoft and the London Office of Technology.

As the Assistant Director – Digital, you will ensure we are creating and delivering digital solutions and that exceed the outcomes set out in our Customer Experience & Technology Strategies, while ensuring services are supported through the digital journey to become as efficient as they can be.

You will play a key part in delivering and aligning ‘digital’ to our Borough Plan, Resident Services Business Plan, and our Digital Lambeth Programme. This is a cross-organisational role which will need a strategic leader who will have the ability to successfully influence our Corporate BAU and business plan landscape to develop and implement a range of digital initiatives.

This role is focused on human centred design and approach to problem solving and digital delivery, though the role is digitally focused, it is important for our new Assistant Director – Digital to have an innovative, customer centric approach to deliver the best outcomes for a diverse set of stakeholders.

We’re looking for an influential and experienced leader to get everyone on board. We need someone who can bring experience of digitising processes, and a proactive, can-do attitude when it comes to driving through change. Above all, you’ll bring a
collaborative approach to developing solutions and improving services for all.
